The American hardwood used in the manufacture of Fashion Tech wood blinds is kiln-dried and resists moisture, plus Fashion Tech is one of the few manufacturers to seal the ends of the slats and route holes for superior moisture protection. Wood blinds are truly "window furniture" and last virtually forever and quickly wipe clean with a cloth.

Flawless Finish

Fashion Tech Woods are sanded smooth for a finish that is free from saw marks, chips and cracks and Princess Woods are actually hand stained with Watco Danish Oil finish for a true hand-rubbed, penetrating oil finish not available from any other major brand.

Three Slat Size Options

The three slat sizes of Fashion Tech Wood Blinds offer different looks: the 1" creates a lighter look, and the 2" provides a more traditional shutter effect, while the 2˝" give a greater field of view when the blinds are open and require less stacking space when the blinds are raised.

And, while providing the ambiance of wood shutters, Fashion Tech Wood Blinds in the 2˝" slats require no supports or framework that limit your view as do traditional shutters.

Fashion Tech Princess Wood 2˝" Shutter Blinds

Fashion Tech Princess Wood 2˝" Shutter Blinds combine the ambiance of wood shutters with the convenience of wood blinds. The larger 2˝" slat size and the beveled edge impart a distinctive look while providing a wide unobstructed view when opened.

Fashion Tech Wood Blinds Duplex Colors

Also, exclusive to Fashion Tech Woods is their Duplex Color option which allows the selection of any 2 paint or stain colors to be applied to opposite sides of the slats. A great idea for condo dwellers who need an off-white window treatment for appearance to the outside, but who prefer more color inside.

Duplex Color is Limited to TimberWoods and WoodVue colors only.

Fashion Tech Wood Blinds No Lite Optional Feature

Fashion Tech No Lite Wood Blinds option (shown in lower right above) blocks out the light that normal wood blinds let in, giving you total privacy and preventing unwanted light from filtering into the room. Fashion Tech has eliminated the lift cord holes so that the tiniest spots of light can't seep in. This unique feature even creates tighter slat closure as shown above.

To achieve this Fashion Tech eliminated the unsightly lift cord route holes that normally occur in the center of the wood blind slats. The lift cords are normally strung through the route holes and keep the slats from moving out of alignment.

To keep the slats in alignment, Fashion Tech notches the slat on the back edge wherever a support ladder falls. The support ladders slip into the notches, keeping the slats from moving side to side and out of alignment. When open, the notches are almost invisible and when closed, the support ladders hide the notches and allow the slats to close tighter than standard wood blinds.

Fashion Tech Starts With the Right Ingredients

Just as it is important to select the right fabric to create a window treatment, it is important to select the appropriate wood for crafting a wood blind. Fashion Tech uses North American hardwoods in the manufacture of their wood blinds to bring out the best results. Basswood is used exclusively for stains to bring out the rich nature of the wood. Aspen and Poplar are used for paints to create a smooth and durable finish. These woods all surpass acceptable warpage standards.

Not only is Fashion Tech very particular about the woods that go into producing their fashionable wood blinds, they are also very particular about the way that wood is handled prior to, during and after manufacture. Trees used in production are hand-selected, and there is no clear cutting. New trees are then planted after the cutting process to regenerate materials.

Fabulous Design Option

Accent with Cotton Twill Tapes: When picking out your beautiful wood blinds, a popular option to consider is Fashion Tech's fashionable twill tapes for accent. Twill tapes are decorative, ribbon-like alternatives to standard, braided cord ladders. They come in a wide array of colors to match your design scheme.

The Cloth Tapes come at no additional charge on WoodVue and Princess Woods blinds. There is a surcharge for the Cloth Tapes when ordered with TimberWood blinds.
