Hunter Douglas Designer Screen Window Shades are operated by a specially designed clutch mechanism attached to a wear-resistant, woven and beaded cord forming a continuous loop. Pulling easily on the cord causes the clutch to rotate the metal roller tube, which raises or lowers the shade and holds it securely in place in any chosen position. The metal roller tube on all shades is always covered by fabric, even when fully lowered. The bottom rod is also wrapped in fabric.

Innovative headrail system standard with Hunter Douglas Designer Screen Roman Shades allows simple installation with minimal mounting depth required. The new Choices program offers multiple fabric options on one shade - choose one fabric for the shade body and another for the valance and/or bottom rod wrap.
For those who still prefer the softer look of a covered headrail, simply request the fabric valance option. The slim cordlock is positioned inside the headrail, removing all visible parts from view. Important Child Safety Update Hunter Douglas' innovative cording system is now being attached to the back, window-facing side of all Designer Screen Roman Shades and Provenance Woven Wood Shades to reduce access to the rear cords, which can pose a strangulation danger to young children and pets. This system prevents a loop forming when the shade is lifted by hand from the bottom that would be large enough for young children to become entangled in. The Top-Down/Bottom-Up option fits rectangular window openings and requires two sets of cords and tassels. The shade opens either from the top to the bottom or from the bottom to the top. Note: Top-Down only option is not available. Also, a 2 on 1 headrail option is available with Hunter Douglas Designer Screen Roman Shades.
