EverWood® slats are made from proprietary slat compositions developed together with our suppliers. They’re not products that existed, or that we simply purchased out of a supplier’s inventory. This means you can only get these exclusive formulations, and their benefits, in Hunter Douglas EverWood Collection products. And, because they’re our formulations, we get to set the performance criteria and enforce them at the supply source. Friendlier Materials For You And The Environment You may have read several news articles related to PVC in products. We’re pleased to say, unlike most faux brands, our faux materials are PVC-free. Only the highest-quality material goes into our slats, valances and bottom rails—the same grade used in items such as Petri dishes, test tubes and food packaging. Plus, scrap material from the extrusion process is recycled and water is recaptured and reused. Our products are also GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® and GREENGUARD Children & Schools™. These certifications measure acceptable indoor air quality levels and test for a variety of items, including off-gassing and acceptable VOC levels. For more information, visit www.greenguard.org. Quality First You may have also noted several news items concerning imported products from Asia. While products supplied by other brands tend to be mass imports, we’re proud to note our product is extruded and fabricated in North America. Sure, it costs a little more, but the control it gives us over our quality is worth it. You get slats of exceptional stability, with the widest tape spacing, superior heat resistance and unmatched colorfastness against the long-term effects of UV rays. We’re so confident in our products that we are the only manufacturer to guarantee against fading, yellowing, warping and bowing. Remember – the most expensive blind is the one a consumer needs to replace. Beauty From The Outside In One reason Hunter Douglas EverWood Collection products look so good is they are designed to have an “un-engineered” look, with a natural surface finish and subtle texture. Compare them to other brands and you’ll see the difference. Another key difference is our approach to color. Whether a white slat or TruGrain® finish, color is consistent down to the core. You can see it when you cut, punch or notch our slat or bottom rail, unlike some competitive products that use the same color core for all their slats, but different surface colors. Hunter Douglas slats always have beautifully finished ends and rout holes that blend perfectly with the surface color, never needing retouching. Plus, we add an anti-static treatment that inhibits dust buildup to keep slats looking their best with minimal maintenance. When needed, slats can simply be dusted and wiped with a damp cloth.
